My Favorite Gadget to Instantly Organize (Almost) Anything!

Confession: I have horrible handwriting. Years ago, I worked as a restaurant server, and I remember getting back to the computer to enter orders and not being able to read my own writing. I could blame my childhood and my parents' writing - doctors have the worst handwriting, right? I could blame myself - I always hated cursive, it seemed so unnecessary (though I hear it's not even taught anymore, so maybe I was on to something?) Or maybe I'm just impatient and don't take the time to write neatly.

Either way, everyone who knows me will tell you that I am NOT a gadget girl, but due to my handwriting this is one task where I appreciate some electronic help. Actually, I don't know if this gadget even counts as "technology" these days, but I can't imagine my house without it! And it is...

My label maker!

I use my label maker for everything; I even label our light switches. At first, my husband chuckled about that, but I believe he is a convert now!

By the way. here are the spice jars + labels, if anyone likes them!

For me, organizing my spices with matching jars had been on my to-do list forever,

and when I finally tackled the project, it felt so good!

For the pantry, I introduced my label maker to these metal bins from The Container Store.

There's nothing like good old-fashioned Sterilite containers for clothes! Stick on a simple label and the closet will never be disorderly again!

I am obsessed with these classic Sterilite containers.

The wide version works perfectly in place of a dresser,

plus it's cheaper and fits in any closet!

I use my daughter's old formula canisters for storage; they fit plastic silverware perfectly!

I labeled these cardboard craft boxes to keep my daughter's art supplies organized.

I used the label maker to make these little tags to keep our toy baskets in some semblance of order.

Labels keep cleaning solutions safely marked so you don't accidentally spray the wrong thing the wrong place!

I love my P-Touch label maker! You can also buy various ink/tape combos.

I like black ink on clear tape or black ink on white tape depending on where the label is going.
