Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas Eve! We wish you all a very happy holiday and many blessings in the new year! We've been enjoying the local activities and festivities around here, from visiting "Santa's Tree Farm" where our daughter got to ride a horse to a light-seeing hayride at Cottom's Farm - they were featured on "The Great Christmas Light Fight"! A number of the big farms around here decorate and have petting zoos for the kids, so there is no shortage of farm-fresh fun to be had!

Last week, we finally got our pricing back from our design meeting back in September, which means they can get started on building! As you probably saw on my social media, they already cleared the entire homesite and driveway. I'll write a more detailed update next week with photos and a couple cool videos we grabbed. It's exciting for us to go into Christmas knowing that things are finally rolling with construction, yay!

We sure were happy that a few tweaks, we were able to remain within budget! This was possible since we were willing to do some of the work ourselves later, we had some padding in the original budget, and most substantially, we completely cut our plans to have a gate and decided to subcontract this out later (or do it ourselves, of course). Granted, there will probably be some construction overages later, (we were already forewarned of a few upcoming costs - more on that in another post) but at least as of right now, we don't have to write a check, which is extra nice news right before Christmas, yay!

Mommy & me holiday horse ride

Mainly, I just wanted to pop in your inbox to say, Happy Holidays from the Ishmael family! This special time of year causes me to reflect on the endless love of Jesus our Savior, and I want to wish you all very Merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart!
